Like others, I'm stuck with 6 keys. Thanks to Apple's comment, I solved the 8 digit code that is inaccurate to the clue, got the item, and can't seem to do anything with it.
Pretty cool game. I had a lot of fun exploring and figuring things out. I was only able to get 4 keys though. I couldn't figure out the number codes and I tried for quite a while. Still fun though. Thanks!

After an hour of play and my friend poking around in the files to see where key 7 was, we were unable to beat it. Disappointing.
The 8 digit code is 10051981 btw. not like it gives a key
i enjoyed the game! got 6/7 keys, but im stuck on the 8-number code. thought it was 10151981 because of the date, but its not working. any hints?
